Congratulations to James O’ Heihir on being named as captain of the Connacht Under 17 Rugby team. This is a great honour for James as well as being a major boost for Rugby in the college. Enda Roche is also a member of the squad.
Congratulations also to Robert Keegan who has been named in the Connacht Under 18 panel.

An indication of Rugby’s development in the college was seen with Summerhill’s first ever senior 15-11 points win over St. Joseph’s Galway (The Bish) The First Years also performed very well in their Rugby blitz, which bodes well for the future.
Thanks to the presence of our international students the sight of cricket bats and wickets is no longer a strange one on campus.

Soccer Trial
The soccer skills of Michael Casey have long being noted in Summerhill and in Sligo generally. That reputation has now spread as far as Scotland as Aberdeen FC has invited him to attend a trial there.

Mr. Justin Lyons travelled with Summerhill hurlers on Tuesday last to Mc Hale Park, Castlebar to participate in the North Connacht School’s Blitz. The Summerhill boys were victorious over St. Gerard’s Castlebar and St. Attracta’s Tubbercurry but were unfortunate to lose to Ballinrobe by a one point margin.

The Senior soccer team started their Connacht league campaign with a brilliant 7-0 win.Well done to Mr. Flynn and his charges.
