Summerhill College

The annual mass for First year students and their parents was celebrated in Fr. Flanagan Hall on Tuesday September 28th. Chief celebrant was Rev. Gerard Cryan. He was joined by priests from the boys’ parishes.

The congregation was welcome by principal Mr. Tommy mc Manus and Deputy-principal, Ms. Margaret Dowd. Before mass the parents were treated to a video display of the boys’ various activities in Summerhill. Mr. Kenny Donagher had recorded the boys’ early days in the college. He filmed classroom activities as well as sports activity. Included also was footage of the First Years recent class retreats in Ballintubber.

The hall had been wonderfully decorated for the night and the music from the school band really added to the success of the night.
